The devasting freezing temperatures in February caused damage to our trees and fruit buds. If you take a walking tour of the orchard you'll find a few dead trees and trees with dead branches that look like they were burned in a fire. April and May brought more freezing temperatures, and although we ran our wind machine on numerous occassions we lost all our Gala apples, Arkansas Blacks and Winesaps.

Costanza Orchard is home to over 1,000 apple trees nestled on 6 1/2 acres in the lower Rio Grande Valley in northeast Belen. We encourage each of you to take a free walking tour of our orchard.
We begin our annual harvest mid August with our Gala apples. The first of September we go into full production with the Red Delicious and Golden Delicious apples and continue thru mid November with the addition of Winesaps, Granny Smiths and our signature apple, Arkansas Blacks. In addition to apples we offer pure, raw honey. This light, sweet, pure honey, fresh from our orchard hives is extremely popular with our customers.
